Empty the Fridge Stir Fry

Spread about a teaspoon of sesame or olive oil around your frying pan.
Chop one onion and start it frying over low heat. If it sticks to the pan, add a bit of water or vegetable broth.
Get all the vegetables you have out of the refrigerator and survey them. If you don't have enough, check your freezer for frozen veggies too.
Select what you are in the mood for (even lettuce works great!)
Wash and chop them by knife or food processor. Chop the veggies that have to cook longer first.
Add to frying onions as you chop them.
Stir often and cover. Add more water or broth as needed.
Smell what is cooking
Open your spice cabinet and smell your spices. Which smells good with what is cooking? Select 1 or 2 seasonings. Add to what is cooking. Add more if needed.
Ideas: Shoyu (soy) sauce, curry, chili powder, rosemary, thyme, parsley, tarragon. Use your nose and experiment!
If you have leftover cooked rice, add that too if you want.
You can also choose to add beans, or tofu, or tempeh (buy in Whole Foods), or seitan (buy in Whole Foods, or make from wheat gluten powder, water and spice).
Cook until veggies are soft.
Serve alone, or, over pasta, rice, or any other cooked grain. Or, add to soup.
This will be different every time you make it.
